Buying

As a Professional Broker, Javier understands that buying a boat or a yacht is a great investment and a big lifetime transaction. By being an active member of the Florida Yacht Broker Association, Javier is able to use the latest contracts, documentation, information and tools to efficiently execute and close a deal. As your yacht broker, he will explain, guide and assist you throughout the entire process whether you are selling or buying a boat or a yacht. It’s not just finding the right yacht or buyer, it’s meticulously and expeditiously guiding the client in order for him or her to be able to close the deal.

1. Knowing the customer and commitment

Finding the right boat or yacht is not an easy task; every buyer has different preferences and purposes. Our mission is to find a yacht that can perfectly suit you and your family. This process requires a lot of time, responsibility, experience, and resources. Teamwork and fluid communication is essential between the Professional Yacht Broker and the customer. The Broker needs to know and trust the customer, and vice versa, as a key element to being able to make well informed and accurate decisions throughout the entire process.

2. Narrowing the selection

A buyer on the market is able to find by his own a wide variety of vessels that at first glance look appealing. However, what we strive to find is the best quality boat at the best possible price. Based on the vessel’s condition, the broker’s experience, the client’s needs and wants, market trends, and other pertinent information, we will advise and recommend particular vessels available on the market before the client invests his or her valuable time traveling to the vessel’s location for an inspection. In some occasions, depending among other factors on the value of the deal and the vessel’s location, the broker can perform a preview visit to the vessel(s) so that we can provide the client with more accurate recommendations.

3. Managing the offer

The negotiation process between buyer and seller has many elements that need to be taken into consideration. These include price, boat history, comps, how long a boat has been market, proper contracts and legal terms, escrow account, financing and inclusions or exclusions of foreseeable repairs, among some other situations or factors. The broker will use his experience and knowledge for effectively structuring a deal between the parties and closing it in a timely fashion.

4. Survey

The survey will reflect the vessel’s actual condition and its market value. However, the broker will advice the client of the several tasks that need to be performed prior to this day. We will provide and recommend several certified and well qualified Marine and Engine Surveyors so you can choose from to inspect the vessel. The surveyor will recommend how in depth should the survey be performed and will suggest if any additional tests are necessary. Moreover, the broker will be present during the survey in order to assure that any findings and/or issues detected are quickly addressed and properly handled.

As your broker, we will help you to understand the survey report and will provide you with an objective suggestion to any finding. We will also assist in estimating the time and cost of the repairs, as well as the adequate boatyard or marine service facility to expeditiously correct any problem in order to be able to close the deal.

5. Closure

Our in house department will assist you with all the closing documentation. The closing process will require contracts, bank documents, affidavits, addendums, Coast Guard Documentation, State Registration, Sales Tax, and other documents which may be required by your State or Country. Since every closing is different, we can either handle the closing or assist you with an external closing and documentation agent. In sum, we will assure that the entire process is handled properly from beginning to end.

6. Post Purchase

Once the documents are signed and the folders are closed, we are still not done!!! We will remain by your side and available to you. We will assist you with any warranty issue and/or repair by connecting you with any of the technicians, mechanics and specialists available in the extensive network that we have created over the years. We will gladly assist you with the sale and/or purchase of your next vessel in case you need to upgrade or find another vessel more suited to your ever evolving needs or intended uses. There should be a reason for why most of our customers also end up being our friends!
